Assignment DescriptionFor this assignment, I chose to photograph an event. The timing was perfect because Saline's homecoming was this weekend. This really helped me work on my portraits of multiple people. Best PictureTechnical DataISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/2000 Aperture: f2.2 Other PicturesAssignment SummaryThis assignment was very fun because I got to take pictures of a lot of my friends and new people that I've never taken pictures of before. It was very difficult to adjust camera settings quickly, because we kept moving to new locations. I really improved at taking pictures of more than 1 person at once, which is a skill I have not perfected yet.

Assignment DescriptionFor this assignment, I had to take several pictures and then stitch them together using photoshop to create a panorama. I took about 5-8 pictures for each one. PanosAssignment ReflectionThis assignment really helped me to be more steady with my hands and use a tripod better. I also learned a new photoshop tool called automerge. This will be helpful in the future to create more panoramas.
Assignment DescriptionIn this assignment I went to a flower garden and did my best to capture the flowers extremely close up. I tried to use a high shutter speed in order to compensate for camera shaking. Best PhotoTechnical DataShutter Speed : 1/2000 Aperture : 2.8 ISO : 200 Other PhotosSummaryThis was my first time using a macro lens, so I learned a lot. I learned that in order to get a good picture, you have to turn the shutter speed up because of your camera shake. Also, I improved my photographer's eye because I had to sort of "zoom in" on what I wanted to photograph.
Assignment DescriptionFor this assignment, we had to try to match the original photo to the sample photo. We had to do this using clone stamp, brush, quick select, and more. Original Photo 1Edited Photo 1Original Photo 2Edited Photo 2Assignment SummaryIn this assignment I really started to understand the basics of photoshop. I now understand how to use text, clone stamp, select, crop, and brush. These tools are only the fundamentals, but will help me in the future as I continue to use photoshop.
MacroFor this next week, I'm going to go to a friends house and take macro pictures of their flowers. I will try to take the pictures at different or unorthodox angles so they aren't the same old macro pictures that everyone has seen a million times before. I'm going to do something different with this.
Assignment DescriptionFor this assignment, I had to capture motion. I chose to use a dancing model to show my motion. I then decided to order smoke bombs to really telegraph the movement in the photograph. This was a very fun assignment to do. Best PhotoTechnical DataShutter Speed: 1/2500 Aperture: 1.8 ISO: 100 Other PhotosSummaryThis assignment was extremely challenging and high intensity. The smoke bombs only lasted for about a minute, so we had to plan out exactly what we were going to do before we actually started using the smoke. I learned how to prepare shots and how to quickly take a ton of images very quickly. I do wish that some of the pictures are more centered, but they turned out very well otherwise. I would like to do this again in the future.
Assignment DescriptionFor this assignment, we learned how to change colors on photos, create new files, copy and paste things. how to layer, and some of the basic tools of photoshop. We learned how to do this by creating two 4 square pop art photos. Original Photo #1Pop Art #1Original Photo #2Pop Art #2What I LearnedI learned how to use Layers, Guides, Resize the canvas, use Threshold dialogs, and Anchor Layers. I also learned how to change the colors of the image I have. I know I will end up using all of these in the future to make my photos look better and in other photoshop assignments.
Aperture
Shutter Speed
ConclusionA fast shutter speed will decrease exposure and make the image sharper.
A slow shutter speed will increase exposure and create motion blur. A large aperture will increase exposure and create a smaller depth of field. A small aperture will decrease exposure and create a larger and longer depth of field. MotionFor the first week, I am going to pursue motion photography in the form of dance. My goal is to use some sort of smoke and a dancer to create awesome pictures like the ones above. Many of my friends are dancers and I'd love to explore the art with them. I'm going to use a very fast shutter speed to make it look frozen in time.
Our composition assignment was made to teach students how to correctly compose an image. It taught us this by giving us many quick and simple tools to follow in different photographs. These tools helped me elevate my photos to a more purposeful level. Depth of Field"The Pigskin" Rule of Thirds"Open Field" Texture"Morning Dew" Lines"Hometown Bleachers" Pattern"The Aux" Symmetry"In the Rafters" Framing"Hurdles" Space"Flying High" Perspective"The Stem" Balance"Pokey" Color"Vibrant" During this assignment I learned how to really pay attention to the composition of my shots. This is much better than just pointing and shooting because it makes the picture look and feel better. My favorite ones to learn were rule of thirds and framing because rule of thirds is very satisfying, and framing provided a very good challenge for me to try out.
